Smart Meter – Why should you have one?

I have always been against having a smart meter, but when I received an email to say that the BBC radio service that supports RTS meters is due to be switched off at the end of March 2024, I had no choice. The meter was duly installed at the beginning of July 2023 and eventually connected to my energy supplier So Energy. Since then So Energy continues to send me requests for meter readings. They have not provided a statement or taken any money from my account since the end of June 2023. Contacting them does not good whatsoever, I get a response to my email saying
“This is an AUTO-RESPONSE, just to let you know we have received your message and we’ll get back to you as soon as possible.

With energy prices so high and a limited budget I need to budget for the winter.

So, if you have a choice, I would not get a Smart Meter, it was very easy to take readings every month. Yes I could supply them with meter readings, but that rather defeats the idea of a Smart Meter.

My renewal is due, a dilemma, should I stay or should I go elsewhere?

Sometimes I Wonder….

Why I sort my rubbish into recycling and non-recycling. I have just watched the dustmen empty the recycling, non-recycling and the clean cardboard into the same area of the dustcart. It was a non-recycling day, but they did not visit last week to collect the recycling. They might not visit next week and then the same problem will occur the week after.

Does anyone have any idea what this is?

It is growing in one of my borders and has not been removed by the gardeners, so I am assuming it is a self-seeded plant; maybe from birdfood?

I have been told it is a Pericaria ‘Red Dragon’

Today’s picture was going to be my boring lunch of jacket potato, which was excellent, but then I realised that the plane my son-in-law was on was going to fly over my house, so today’s picture is his aeroplane. The extra is the track which shows the line over the village. I waved as did my daughter who could also see the plane from her home!!!
